Maneshpura

In the small village of Maneshpura, India, talented women artisans craft twin kantha quilts from used sari scarves, making up the bulk of our production. They start by washing and layering the vibrant, worn saris—often featuring faded florals or paisleys—then hand-stitch them with the traditional kantha running stitch, creating the quilts’ distinctive puckered look and ensuring durability. After stitching, the quilts are spread out under the sun to dry, setting the threads and enhancing the fabric’s sheen. The result is a collection of lightweight, unique quilts that embody the resilience and skill of the women who transform these recycled textiles.
